Our instructors are all very well qualified, either through years of experience, Equine Canada Certification, or Pony Club standard.  In addition, they have first aid and CPR certificates.

Our horses and ponies provide a variety of sizes and temperaments to suit every rider, and all are sweet and loveable!

Our tack, equipment, and facilities are carefully  maintained and checked regularly for safety.  We provide ASTM-approved safety helmets. Each rider is encouraged to progress through a series of clearly defined levels for which both riding ability and stable management knowledge is required.  More advanced riders are encouraged to lease or buy a horse, join Southlands Riding Club, and progress to advanced lessons with Rick Maynard.

 
Important Safety Rules:
  • We require all riders/guardians to read and sign waivers before riding.
  • Drivers!   Please observe the 30 km/hr (18 mph) speed limit in Southlands.
  • For your lesson you will need:
    • Boots with a heel
    • Stretchy pants or breeches
    • A safety helmet (some provided by Maynard's)
